Our Story
Bradford District Credit Union was founded in 1964 by a small group of local workers who believed everyone deserved access to fair, affordable financial services — regardless of income or background.
What began as a small savings cooperative with fewer than 50 members has grown into one of West Yorkshire's most trusted community financial institutions, now serving over 15,000 members across Bradford, Keighley, and the surrounding districts.
As a not-for-profit cooperative, every penny of profit is returned to our members through better rates, lower fees, and expanded services. We are regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA), with member savings protected up to £85,000 by the FSCS.
Our mission has never changed: put people before profit, and build a stronger, more financially resilient community — one member at a time.
